We advise first and quote second. If the right answer is to keep the plant on the gas it has, or to replace the machine rather than retrofit it, that is what we will tell you — even where it means a smaller order.

Refrigerant selection

Choosing a refrigerant is a chemistry decision with a capital-expenditure consequence. We help you make it once.

Every grade carries a set of trade-offs — operating pressure, discharge temperature, glide, oil miscibility, flammability class, ozone depletion potential and global warming potential. A gas that suits a cold room at −25°C is the wrong answer for a chiller, and a low-GWP hydrocarbon is only an option if the equipment is built for it.

We work from the equipment, the duty and the operating envelope rather than from a price list. Where two grades are genuinely comparable, we say so.

What we look at

  • The equipment: compressor type, expansion device, materials and seals
  • The duty: evaporating and condensing temperatures, load profile, ambient
  • The oil: what is in the system now and what the new gas requires
  • The site: ventilation, occupancy and whether an A3 gas is defensible
  • The horizon: how long the plant must run and what the gas costs to service

Retrofit & transition planning

Moving a plant off R22 — or off a high-GWP HFC — is a project, not a cylinder swap.

Nigeria's installed base still runs a great deal of R22 equipment. Some of it should be serviced on R22 until it is replaced; some of it should be retrofitted to R407C or R410A now; some of it should be left alone. The economics differ per machine.

We assess the installed base, group it by the right answer, and set out the sequence — including the oil change, the component checks, the recovery of the old charge and the realistic downtime for each machine.

Sourcing & supply strategy

Twelve years of importing means we know which specifications hold up and which lead times are real.

Refrigerant is a commodity until it is not. Purity, cylinder integrity, correct labelling and honest net weight are where the difference sits — and where a cheap cylinder becomes expensive.

For clients running continuous refrigeration we build a supply plan: what to hold, what to schedule, and what to keep a second source for. For one-off projects we quote the grade, the pack and the landed timing straight.

Service 04

Handling, safety & compliance

Pressurised, and in two cases flammable. The handling is not optional.

Every product we supply arrives with a safety data sheet on request, and we will walk your team through what it actually means: charging method, personal protective equipment, ventilation requirements, storage separation and what to do when a cylinder is damaged.

For hydrocarbon refrigerants — R290 and R600a — we are deliberately conservative. They belong in equipment certified for them, charged by technicians trained for them, in spaces ventilated for them. We will say no where that is not the case.

Non-negotiables

  • Flammable grades go only into equipment certified for them
  • Blends with glide are charged as liquid, never as vapour
  • Cylinders are stored upright, secured, away from heat and ignition
  • Damaged or unlabelled cylinders are removed from service
  • Old charge is recovered — not vented

If you want us to supply the gas, we do — to the schedule agreed. If you would rather buy elsewhere, the recommendation still stands.
